ELIAZAR was a heartbreakingly disfigured 5-year-old boy from a small village in the Philippines. A visiting KARE FOR KIDS volunteer spotted him there. We brought Eliazar to Toronto and during a complex, grueling 8-hour operation, the huge tumor was removed from the boy's face. After a few weeks of recuperation, a happy Eliazar returned to his family in the Philippines, his life changed forever.

ROBYN, a 5-year-old girl from South Africa, could not smile for anyone. Born with Mobius' syndrome where some cranial nerves never developed, Robyn couldn't close her eyes, and could eat and speak only with great difficulty. KARE FOR KIDS helped raise the necessary funds for two separate operations in Toronto to correct her condition. Today, Robyn is a happy, smiling child.

JULIEAN, a shy, self-conscious, 8-year-old girl from the Philippines, was born with a hole in the skull above her nose. Cerebral fluid leaked out, creating the large and heavy tumor which eventually pushed one eye out of position. With help from the Filipino community, the Herbie Fund and KARE FOR KIDS, Juliean and her father flew to Toronto where surgeons, in a complex 14-hour procedure, removed the disfiguring tumor, reconstructed her nose, and moved the eye back into its normal position. Juliean is now a beautiful girl.

KARE FOR KIDS PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO KIDS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD WHO NEED SPECIALIZED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THERE ARE MANY OTHER KIDS LIKE ELIAZAR, ROBYN, AND JULIEAN WHO NEED YOUR HELP.
